Traditional Caprese Salad
Yield: 1 Platter about 4 servings | Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Start to finish: 15 min.
Caprese Salad is a great salad to serve as an appetizer. Layered with tomatoes, cucumbers (optional) and mozzarella then topped with fresh basil and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. You can even divide this dish and add to antipastos and salads.
1 Each Cucumber, skin peeled, or unpeeled (your choice), then sliced
2 Balls Fresh Mozzarella Cheese, sliced
2 Each Tomatoes, sliced
1 Clove Garlic, minced
2 Teaspoons Balsamic Vinegar or Glaze, for drizzling
2 Each Basil Leaves, rinsed and sliced

1. Slice your cucumbers, tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella cheese into 1/4″ slices. In a nice serving dish, stack vertically tomato, cucumber, cheese and repeat until all ingredients are used up.
2. Then sprinkle with the minced garlic and fresh sliced basil leaves.
3. Drizzle with the balsamic glaze.
4. Refrigerate for about 1 hour and serve.
